In recent years, the headquarters of the State Grid Corporation of China has increasingly emphasized the construction of the distribution network command system, increasing investment in the system year by year. As the affairs faced by the business departments become increasingly complex, discussions on emergency matters have increased, and the external communication volume of distribution network staff has also been continuously increasing. Building diversified communication channels, improving work efficiency, and strengthening cooperation have become urgent needs for the power supply command system.

The Command Center and remote workstations of State Grid of Xiamen has a significant communication need during each power maintenance activity and emergency repair work during natural disasters. However, the original single traditional telephone communication method has been unable to meet the high-frequency and complex communication needs. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a professional, convenient desktop video conference system that can meet diverse communication needs.

Recently, State Grid of Xiamen has partnered with Porient to deploy desktop video conference system in the power supply command center and five district liaison centers. This system includes an MCU video conference server and multiple desktop video conference terminals, facilitating remote conference communication, instruction delivery, and work deployment within the company.
